Windows Beta Version
The next major release of SongbookPro for Windows is a complete rewrite which will make the Windows version feature-complete with the iOS and Android versions. As this is a major change, the Windows app won’t be automatically updated to this version for several months, but instead, you are able to install the new version alongside the existing app.
The new app should be stable enough for most people (see list of known issues below), so if you want access to the new features feel free to switch to this version. On the other hand, if you want to continue using the existing app you are free to do so.
Before you are able to install this new version of SongbookPro for Windows, you need to own the full version of the existing Windows app. This early access version is only open to people who already own SongbookPro on Windows.
Open SongbookPro and navigate to the 'About' page in the app settings. Check that the app version is 20.1.13 or higher. If this is not the case, open the Microsoft Store app on your PC and navigate to the library view (icon at the bottom left). Press 'Get Updates' to get the latest update for SongbookPro.
To claim the license for the new version, press the 'Claim License' button on the 'About' page of SongbookPro to start the license request. You will need to enter the email address you use to sign in to your Microsoft account here, if this isn’t entered correctly you may not be able to claim a license.
After this step, you will receive an email containing a link to progress further. Click this link to confirm the email address and finalize the license request. You will receive another email once your license has been granted; please be aware this may take several days.
Migrating your song library
The first time you open the app, your existing song library will be automatically imported from the existing app. This is a copy however, and the two libraries won’t stay in sync unless you use the Online Sync feature.
